Shontell Harris (Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern)

I am currently a registered mental health counselor intern (RMHCI) with 15 years of experience working with children ages 5 to 18. I also work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other struggles.  I do work with families as well. I graduated from Argosy University in 2008 with a Master of Arts in Guidance Counseling. I became licensed as a school counselor in 2008 and currently hold a professional license as a school counselor.

I decided to take a few classes and transition out of the school system and into the therapy field full-time. After becoming a registered mental health intern in October of 2023, I earned a Post Baccalaureate Certification in Marriage and Family Therapy in June 2024 from National University. My passion is working with “at-risk” youth. I specialize in helping kids and adolescents through depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, behavioral issues, identity, and major life changes.

I use a collaborative approach focusing on thoughts, feelings, and behavior paired with coping skills and mindfulness techniques.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to audiobooks, going for walks in the park, watching Netflix, baking, and taking care of my pet turtle.
